March 25, 2020 Coronavirus update

On Friday, March 20, 2020 Governor Pritzker instituted a stay-at-home order through April 7 to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Disease. In compliance with that order the Mundelein Park & Recreation District has put all programs on hold and closed all facilities and playgrounds through April 10. As new evidence regarding the transmission of Coronavirus (COVID-19) becomes available the Center for Disease Control and Prevention will make new recommendations, The Mundelein Park & Recreation District will continue to follow those recommendations and prepare to safely reopen facilities and relaunch programs, accordingly.

While we eagerly await our opportunity to return to regular operations, Park District staff is working to provide a variety of online content for your enjoyment. Classes are posted on our website and Facebook pages, and we invite you to check out all the FUN we are putting together.

The Mundelein Park & Recreation District has taken many proactive measures to protect the health and wellness of our residents and employees by closing facilities and postponing programs. Unfortunately, due to the length of our closure, some programs will have to be modified and/or cancelled. Park District program supervisors will be in touch with you regarding the status of any program that you have registered for through April 30. Refunds will be processed as necessary or make up dates will be coordinated if possible. In some instances, classes may be held virtually. All refunds will be processed once we are back in regular operation. The status of our programs is subject to change and we will continue to provide regular updates as the situation evolves.

We are committed to “connecting our community” especially during these tough times and we invite you to join us on our Facebook and Instagram pages. We also encourage you to reach out to us at info@mundeleinparks.org with any questions or comments.

Thank you for your continued understanding.
