Closing Ceremony for PGA Hope program was a heart-warming success

Although it was chilly, the closing ceremony of the PGA Hope Program warmed our hearts.

Yesterday was the closing ceremony for the PGA HOPE golf training program for area veterans. Veterans spoke about the wonderful experience they had and many have a new-found love for the sport of golf.

The Illinois PGA Foundation teamed up with the Mundelein Park & Recreation District, RevelationGolf, AllenForce, and Pine Meadow Golf Club to bring the PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) golf training program to area veterans at Pine Meadow Golf Club in Mundelein.

Twenty veterans were enrolled in the program that met once a week for five weeks on the range at Pine Meadow Golf Club. It was taught by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. The program introduced the game to these veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.
