Reserve a Private Pickleball Court at Dolan Recreation Center

To guarantee the availability of an indoor court, you must reserve your court online. The fee is $25/hour per court.  Court reservations are online only, and payment in full is due at the time of reservation.  Courts can be reserved 21 days in advance and up to 24 hours before the start time of the reservation. No cancellations. Balls and nets will be supplied; please bring your own paddle. Contact Karyna Vickers for any questions at 847.388.5437.

Court Rental Availability: Monday–Thursday, 9 am–2 pm (dependent on the schedule for other programming in the Dolan (formerly Dunbar) Recreation Center gymnasium.)

Pickleball Lessons

Join the craze that is sweeping the country!

Adult Beginner Pickleball (Ages 18+)
This class is for those who have never played pickleball before or who have very limited experience with the sport. It will focus on pickleball basics such as forehand and backhand shots, serving, and court positioning. Players will also learn scoring and the rules of the game through drills and playing time. The slower pace of this class will give players the opportunity to develop the skills needed to play this fun and energetic game. All equipment will be provided. Led by Park District Staff. (6 wks)

Intermediate Pickleball (Ages 18+)
This class is for advancing beginners who have some experience and want to move at a faster pace to improve their basic shots and strategy. Players will participate in challenging drills to work on consistency in forehand and backhand shots, serving, volleying, dinks and lobs. Through matches played each week, players will get the chance to take their game to the next level by learning how to play smarter, not harder. All equipment will be provided. Led by MPRD Staff. (6 wks)

Pickleball Social Club (Ages 21+)

Ages 21–29: Get in on one of the most up-and-coming sports around, learn to play in a very social & recreational environment, all while meeting the young adult community in the area. Standardized pickleball rules and scoring will be used. All skill levels welcome; if possible, please bring your own paddle. (5 wks)

Ages 30–50: Come out and relax away from the stresses of life! Partake in one of the most up-and-coming sports around, learn to play in a very social & recreational environment, all while meeting the adult community in the area. Standardized pickleball rules and scoring will be used. All skill levels welcome; if possible, please bring your own paddle. (5 wks)

Ages 51+: Get in on one of the most up-and-coming sports around, learn to play in a very social & recreational environment. Pickleball is a very easy and fun way to remain active! Standardized pickleball rules and scoring will be used. All skill levels welcome; if possible, please bring your own paddle. (5 wks)

League Format: Scramble League Play (Randomly assigned partners each game)

Pickleball 123 (Ages 18+)
For new players or those starting pickleball. Players will learn the fundamentals of the game: ground strokes, dinks, volleys and overheads, serving, returns, and the general rules of play. Even if you’ve never picked up a paddle, these clinics will get you started on your own pathway with a solid foundation.

Pickleball 456 (Ages 18+)
For Pickleball 123 graduates or those that are currently playing, Pickleball 456 is where you’ll begin to refine your strokes and generate more power, dinks, and touch. Use of strategies in your game will be introduced.

Jr Development Pickleball (Ages 8–13)
For players ages 8–13 who want to learn the fundamentals of the game: ground strokes, dinks, volleys and overheads, serving, returns, and the general rules of play. Even if you’ve never picked up a paddle, these clinics will get your started on your own pathway with a solid foundation.

High School Pickleball (Ages 14–18)
For players ages 14–18 who want to learn the fundamentals of the game: ground strokes, dinks, volleys and overheads, serving, returns, and the general rules of play. Even if you’ve never picked up a paddle, these clinics will get your started on your own pathway with a solid foundation.

Pickleball Match Play (Ages 18+)
Organized match play. No partner needed (intermediate level players). Players will rotate partners and have multiple matches during each session.
