“Lucky Duck Race”–a Rubber Duck Race Fundraiser benefiting the Mundelein Parks Foundation

Online “adoptions” for the Rubber Duck race have ended. The remaining ducks will be available for $10 each on Sunday. Ducks for the Pluck -a-Duck in the tot pool can be purchased day of for $5.

Try your “luck” by adopting a Duck! Adopt your Lucky Duck here and watch them race at Barefoot Bay on Sunday, June 9. The Mundelein Parks Foundation has 250 adoptable ducks that are available for $5 each ONLINE ONLY through Thursday, June 6. Any remaining ducks will be available for adoption on event day starting at 10:30 am for $10 each while supplies (the ducks) last! The “Lucky Duck Race” will begin with a splash at 4 pm at Barefoot Bay, 1461 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein. Bring the family to enjoy a day at the ‘Bay and stay to watch your Lucky Duck race in the lazy river. You don’t need to be present to win. All spectators must use a season pass or purchase a daily admittance at the resident/non-resident rate to enter Barefoot Bay.
PRIZES:
1st Place Duck (first duck across the finish line): Grand prize of a cooler filled with Park District goodies and four Barefoot Bay Day passes
Random Duck (selected from all the ducks by staff) : Four Barefoot Bay Day passes
Last Place Duck: Two Barefoot Bay Day passes

Pluck-a-Duck (Ages 2–4)

Do you have a toddler who loves rubber duckies? Be sure to waddle in early to catch the “Pluck-a-Duck” event at 2 pm in the toddler pool for 2-4-year-olds. Ducks are $5 each and can be purchased at Barefoot Bay on Sunday, June 9 from 10:30 am–1:30 pm. Prizes will be quickly awarded after your toddler “plucks their duck.” You and your toddler MUST be present to play. All who wish to enter Barefoot Bay on June 9 must use their season pass or pay the resident/non-resident daily rate to enter Barefoot Bay.
Proceeds support our Recreational Scholarships Program, which offers program scholarships to financially disadvantaged Mundelein Park & Recreation District residents so they can learn new skills and enhance their quality of life. (i.e., summer camp, swimming, and dance)
