Boat Launch Permit Process
NOTE: The name on the Boat Launching Permit application must match the name on the driver’s license AND the boat’s IL DNR Registration paperwork.
The following information is required:
- Completed Boat Launching Permit application
- Driver’s License
- IL DNR Registration paperwork
These documents can be emailed to info@mundeleinparks.org or placed in the drop-off box in the flagpole circle at the Mundelein Community Center. The Mundelein Community Center is open 8:30 am–5 pm Monday through Friday, for in-person processing.
2025 Permit Fees:
Annual Permit (motorized): $95 resident/$235 nonresident
Annual Permit (non-motorized): $65 resident/$125 nonresident
Additional Annual Non-Motorized: $40 resident/$85 nonresident
Daily Fee: $35 resident/$50 nonresident
Second Vehicle Sticker: $20
Boat Launch Gate Information:
Boat Launch Permit holders will receive a numbered key for the boat launch gate padlock. The key is valid for one calendar year. At the start of each new year, the Park District replaces the padlock, and new keys are issued with the purchase of a renewed permit.
Boat Launch Dock Information:
The Boat Launch Dock is typically installed by April 1st and removed for the winter after November 1st. During the winter months, permit holders may still launch their boats without the dock, though the process may be more challenging.
