Because Play is Important Work!

In the first five years, your child will develop at a faster pace than at any other time of life. This will enable them to become intellectually curious and creative thinkers. Mundelein Park & Recreation District Early Childhood Programs are designed to enhance your child’s social, emotional and physical development in a positive, nurturing environment. Our experienced teachers will guide children through activities that integrate socialization and play; movement and exercise; music; art; and listening and following directions.

We have classes for every phase of your child’s early development. In classes for younger children, a parent/caregiver and child will to participate and enjoy quality time together. As your child gets older he or she will learn independence when a parent/caregiver is not present. Programs at Mundelein Park & Recreation district help prepare your child with a solid foundation for school success. Our goal is to help your child become a life-long learner.

Enrichment classes include: Arts and crafts, Cultural themes, Exercise, Fine-motor skills, Following directions, Interactive games with numbers, shapes, colors and concepts, Music and movement activities, Sing-alongs, Socialization, Storytime, as well as Structured and Semi-structured Activities.

Sports programs include: Basketball, Dance, Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Flag Football, Floor Hockey, Soccer, Swimming lessons, T-Ball, and Tennis.
